Sometimes a step back is 10 steps forward...

Hello readers! Hope you're all well. I had to take a break or take a step back, to be precise, before writing another post. I have been working on developing my skills in Analytics, my topic of interest, before getting into it. I feel it is really necessary to know what you're getting into, to know what you'll be doing for the rest of your life before choosing a career path. I have been doing an online course on Udemy related to Business Intelligence and Data Science in general. Pretty amazing course and loving every second of it. I thought it is a good idea to talk about something that came to my mind. The importance of stepping back before you move forward... Also, I could do with a small break from the course 😆
Suppose you have a well-paying job and you want to change your career path, or you have a degree of great value and looking for a job. More often than not, people see certain jobs as being below their worth. People feel their next big breakthrough is coming in the form of a grandly wrapped present! This is not always the case. When nothing is for certain, anything is possible! Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs are discovered from the smallest of tasks. And for this reason, I feel it is important to know the value of stepping back and analysing before you move forward... And actually doing something that you're passionate about even if it feels like you deserve more.

In my homeland India, you are mostly treated as a failure if you're not placed right after your degree! People treat themselves as failures and go hard on themselves that they couldn't get that job their peers got. It is really important to understand that taking a step back matters sometimes. The path to success isn't always full speed down the hill and easy. You might have to break if there's a sharp turn or even Chuck-a-Uey if it is a dead-end. People really need to understand this. It teaches us to be patient and also to analyse things before making the move. Remember... It's rarely a straight road with no turns. Learn to Break...

It is also okay to change your mind based on new information you have obtained. It is never a weakness as always stressed upon by GaryVee. "Pursuit of Happyness" showed us that it does actually pay off to take a step backwards. There are a lot of instances where we have come across such examples. But we still somehow manage to tell ourselves that it is a bad idea to step back before you start something new. Predators stay low and steady themselves just before they pounce on their prey. It is for a reason. Remember the little step they take back? It is absolutely essential to stay low, plan, analyse and then execute. That one step back if planned and executed well will build the momentum you need to leap far ahead of many others. You need to be self-aware and plan things. If your break is a complete break, it seldom helps you. It is okay to take a break, it is okay to relax, it is okay to stay low for some time... Sometimes, that one step back is worth more than the ones you could have covered without it. I hope this was of some value 😃 Optimism and Perseverance is the way to go! Patience matters... Comment your thoughts and let me know what you think! Stay tuned for more...
